Birthday FOTD!

Evening beauties! So today is my birthday! I had huge plans which had to be cancelled but I had a really lovely day nonetheless. Been really busy! Managed a spot of shopping, of course, and I've just got back from a huge meal, YUM! I've have such amazing presents, I'm so thankful. I'll definitely show you a few of them! I'm feeling incredibly tired now but yesterday I promised a birthday FOTD so I couldn't break a promise, not on my birthday! I'm afraid it's not very exciting as I didn't have as much time as I wanted. Thus, creativity was a bit on the spot! I went with a neutral eye with a cranberry twist. It's not my best effort but surprisingly a lot of people stopped to comment on it. I promise better FOTDs will be up soon! Talk to you soon lovelies, hope you've had a great Friday!

NOTD: Jessica Bear in Mind 'Midnight Moonlight'

Evening all! So sorry for the lack of updates recently. I had this horrible Uni assignment that everytime I tried to save, deleted itself. So yes, great fun there...or perhaps not. Anyway earlier this month I told you all about the release of
Jessica Nails Bear in Mind Collection and like me, you couldn't get enough of the cuteness! The other day I finally got my hands on them and so I'd like to show you them in the flesh...or at least, as near to for you lovely lot!

The first one I grabbed from the bunch (and I'm still after that pink one!) is this beautiful deep navy shade 'Midnight Moonlight'. It's absolutely stunning and the brush is great. It's not as 'fat' as OPI (does that even make sense?) but it has a longer handle so it's easier to get precision- especially important with dark colours like this! I'm writing to you on the second day of wearing it and I have to say there are a few chips but nothing major. So yes, thus far, I have nothing but good things to say about Jessica polish, although I'm going to have to see how I get on with the others before I make a proper review. And come on, isn't that bottle just the cutest thing EVER? You know it is! And what's great is that it's the same size as an ordinary nail polish, so you're not losing a lot of product.

Here is just one more photo for you with the flash. The lighting has been awful recently because it's just been so yuck! Oh and I'm sorry I did this before I tidied the edges of my nails:

Finally, have you entered my contest? Because if not it ends tomorrow so make sure you click here to enter! I've got a super busy week (as it's my birthday!) but I've been having a play with the Sleek palettes and I LOVE them. I did a really natural look using them today and EVERYONE was asking what I used.

REVIEW: LUSH 'Love Lettuce' Fresh Face Mask

You all know about my relationship with LUSH, so I won't bore you, but I want to do a series of reviews dedicated to their fresh face masks. Quite simply, for me, no others compare (and if they do, I want to hear about them!). I thought I'd start with the beautiful 'Love Lettuce' because it's my absolute favourite of the bunch. Some of you may just venture into LUSH for the array of bath treats but the skincare is, in my opinion, outstanding. For those who don't know what a fresh face mask is then let me give you a short (I promise!) introduction...

LUSH face masks really are fresh, and when you see them in store, you'll notice that they're also surrounded by ice. That's because the face masks are as fresh as fruit and vegetables- and due to having no preservatives- they need to be kept in the fridge. The downside is that once you buy one of these masks, you'll need to use it up in a few weeks to achieve maximum results. But what's so lovely about these beauties is that they really ARE natural- it's not one of those gimmicks! Take a look at the ingredients list below...
No long, horrible chemical names- and an ingredient list that is actually understandable! And I've seen these things being made, so believe me when I say that those raw ingredients are all thrown together in a huge mixing bowl thing, stirred by an actual person, not a machine! So here's what LUSH say...

An effective, exfoliating face mask which gives normal to oily skin a softened, smoothed and radiant glow. Polishing almond shell is balanced by the skin softening qualities of almond oil and seaweed gel. With soothing lavender essential oil and the cleansing, tightening action of Fuller's Earth, you'll feel fresh in no time.

And here's what it looks like...

As you can see it's a thick green paste with little almond shells to exfoliate! The ingredients together give a beautiful herbal smell, which always reminds me of herbal tea for some reason! It's a very pleasant smell, and once on dries slightly on the skin, giving a tightening feeling. I normally leave it on for 5- 10 mins and I make sure my skin is always slightly damp when I apply it- it works better for me.

And what do I think? Well it'll be no surprise to you all that I adore this product. It would probably make my top 10 beauty products of all time. It's hard to pin-point one reason why but it just really works for me. My skintype is very weird- a mixture of oily (t-zone), combination, dry and sensitive. When I use this face mask it just sorts out my skin problems. The lavender sorts out my oily t-zone, the glycerin, almond oil and seaweed gel sooth my dry patches and the almond shells get rid of any flakiness. My skin is also rid of redness and feels baby soft. When I haven't used this mask in a while my skin just flares up and then I know I have to get myself some 'Love Lettuce'! I therefore give this- 5/5.

If you have some old LUSH face masks then collect 5 of them and go in and get yourself a free face mask, it's fantastic way to try them! I'd say if you find ones like 'Cupcake' too strong, and yet 'BB Seaweed' to mild- then go for this one first. In store it will cost you £4.95 for 75g but £6.45 for 75g online (due to posting an item so fresh). If you want more information on the product then go here, but also feel free to ask any questions below!

Christmas Lust #3: Betsey Johnson Handbag

So long time followers of my blog will know that I absolutely adore the fashion goddess that is Betsey Johnson. On a recent trip to her shop in London, I yet again fell in love with everything and decided that I want to get another of her handbags. This one from ASOs is really cute, but there's also tons of others on her main website. I find Betsey handbags really good quality so they're definitely worth saving up for in my opinion! If you're interested in the handbag you can buy it here.

So please tell me your Christmas lusts below, I'd love to hear them! My latest Christmas lust of the Cameo jewellery from Miss Selfridge came true, so I'm getting through them! OH and one final thing: if you don't know already my contest ends this coming Wednesday. If you want to enter click here :).

REVIEW: Lula Bloom- Blooming Essential 3 in 1 Oil

Today I want to introduce you to a new brand I think is amazing. They are called 'Lula Bloom' and I was introduced to them in the latest issue of 'Dare'- Superdrug's free magazine. They had a little feature on this product that I want to talk about today- the Blooming Essential 3 in 1 Oil. It is named 3 in 1 because it's one product with three uses.
Namely:

* For an indulgent massage
* As a hair conditioning treatment
* Bath Oil

The massage and oil bit didn't excite me too much, but the fact that it could be used on your hair did! I normally use an olive oil treatment once in a while on my hair, but the smell is always a bit meh and so the promise of something with a similar effect but that smelt good looked too good to miss! I keep trying to find it in all my local Superdrugs to no avail, but on Tuesday they now finally stock the Lula Bloom range...and stocked up their Sleek Palettes too! But was the wait worth it? Well here's what Lula Bloom promises:

Borage seed oil offers total nourishment and
conditioning. Sweet almond oil is a great natural emollient and restorative to
smooth, soften and protect your skin.
I've tried it in the 3 ways suggested. Firstly, to massage, well I use it to moisturise my elbows, knees and other dry parts of my body and it was quite nice. I wouldn't say it was more moisturising then any other normal moisturisers out there but it did leave it feeling soft for a while, and sank in really quickly. Then I tried it out in the bath. Again, left it soft, but I normally get that same effect from moisturising bubble baths (my favourite being LUSH's 'Creamy Candy'). Finally, I tried it on my hair. Now this I found the most impressive. I applied a handful to the ends of my hair as they are the driest part. I left it on for hours and hours in a shower cap and then washed it off. The ends of my hair were a lot less frizzy and felt super soft so I was really impressed with that. The smell of this oil is also gorgeous- it's floral but also has a fruity twist- like pomegranate or something. It smells like a really natural scent, if you see what I mean! The bottle has a little hole in the middle so that it doesn't spill everywhere, but somehow I still manage to get it everywhere!

It looks yellow-ish in the photo but I can assure you that is 100% clear!

Overall: I really like this oil, although not as much as I thought I would. I mean don't get me wrong, it's a great product, but at £5.99 for some it may be cheaper to stick to your olive oil treatments because for me it's pretty much exactly the same! I mean it did wonders for my hair, but like I said, you could get the same effects cheaper, but the major plus points was that my hair smelt beautiful and actually it did wash out more easily than olive oil. If you have dry skin or dry hair then maybe give this a whirl but don't ditch your heavy duty moisturisers. I would have to rate it 4 (just!)/5.Currently I think this range is only available from Superdrug stores, and on the Superdrug website here.

So have you tried any oils similar to the Lula Bloom one? I'd love to hear if you've found any gems! The Lula Bloom range looks really good and I'm excited to try more products from this range. Oh and I should have said earlier- this product is suitable for both vegans and vegetarians and the ingredients list seems to be a lot better than other brands so yay for that!
